# Add Funds Manually

You can manually add funds to a Collective directly. This is useful when you receive a donation for a Collective outside the Open Collective system (like a bank transfer) and want to apply it to a Collective's budget.

Log in and go to your [host dashboard](https://github.com/contraexemplo/metadocumentation/tree/7903b8b9909a117e7fa3639b77b89d17760e9995/fiscal-hosts/host-dashboard.md). Click the drop-down menu and select the Collective. Then click 'add funds'.

Put in the details of the funds to add. If you want to create a new source of funds, select 'other' and fill out the info for the new source.

Click the blue "Add Funds" button to save.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://documentarians.gitbook.io/metadocumentation/fiscal-hosts/add-funds-manually.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
